Since its inception, USL has sold products and systems into the major "blue chip" companies in Europe and throughout the world. These include Rolls Royce, BAE Systems (formerly British Aerospace), Timken, Ericsson, Siemens and Ford. The systems are acknowledged as advanced, state-of-art products which are the equal of any in the world and in many aspects superior, whilst being extremely cost-effective.
USL is almost unique in having the capability to design and manufacture each of the sub-systems required for an ultrasonic inspection system, including mechanical, electronic and software components.
Role in the project
USL will be mainly concerned with the development of acoustic methods of inspecting PCB assemblies. USL will also be involved with integration of
their acoustic microscopy system with other NDT techniques.
Reason for participating
USL are always looking at methods of developing acoustic microscopy, one of the methods of expanding the use will be its ability to be integrated
in-line with other NDT systems. This means that the systems will have a larger market and application. USL has the experience and systems to
participate in these activities.
